Belated Christmas Tidings

We at the Smithson home would like to wish everyone a happy and Merry Christmas!! I know it is late but I felt strongly about wishing everyone a good one. As the year is quickly winding down, there has been many things that I have been grateful for and I feel i have been truely blessed with great friends, neighbors, and family.

One thing that i have been spending alot of time is thinking about is what we celebrated this past week. The birth of the Saviour and all the things that He went through to allow us the chance to prove ourselves. Most of all is the chance to prove ourselves through the next year. I know I can do better as a person this next year. I seem to have lost the urgency or desire to push myself to be better especially when it comes to doing things church related. The Saviour paid a great sacrifice with His life. The least I can do is try harder. I am going to do more with regards to remembering what the saviour did for me.

Back to reality, we sent some papers back to the mortgage company agreeing to some terms to stop the foreclosure of the house. What the mortgage company offered us is a lower interest rate of 5.9 percent fixed. This is much better than the adjustable rate that we had. The part that we are hoping to still negotiate is the loan amount. The proposal came back that our new loan amount is 432,000. This is up from the original amount of 404,000. The increase is from legal fees and back payments that they feel they need. I have requested to lower the principal amount to 338,000 in hopes that they will agree and in hopes that they will understand that they will not get more than 260,000 if they foreclose. See if they will take it. If not, I guess we will be moving out.

I am off this week due to some neeeeddddded time from the work project. We turned it over to the city and had the open house yesterday. They had a good turnout of people to walk the building and to ride the light rail. The kids had fun doing the rock wall, sampling the free food, and getting the free massage. We also braved the ride on the light rail. Talk about being crowded!! Now I know what being in New York is like. lol. When it is free, everyone rides. Now I can say that I have been on it.

Well it is time to go, i have many things to do around the house. Laurie has another migraine and she is not feeling to well. Have a good nite and a very Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok try to imagine fireworks for the exclamation points

I hope all continues to work out on the house side as we love you as neighbors! I mean who else would help us lift heavy heavy boxes near midnight on Christmas Eve and not even complain. I am not great at expressing my appreciation I know, but I can't tell you how much I appreciate the friend and neighbor you have been to my family the last year and a half. You were there when someone else just couldn't be! Thank you Thank you! Happy New Year!

We miss living close by, but I hope you don't have to go through the things we did. It was unbelievably hard and sometimes I am still not over it. Best wishes for your family this new year!
